The Agile movement and manifesto represent a move from belief-based practices towards the second, philosophical stage. So doing Agile well requires that you pick and define an overall framework within which you apply the agile principles.

Quoting Scott Ambler’s five questions on determining if a team is agile he goes on asking a few interesting questions that touches the elements of Management, Communication and Quality

What are you doing to detect, predict and prevent defects? “Regression testing” is not an …
Mixu's blog – http://blog.mixu.net/

Hosted platforms like Testopia, Mantis and Redmine help Customer-vendor/service provider collaboration for Information transfer and QA progress visibility in an outsourced engagement.

Testopia (An integration of TestRunner Test bench management platform with Bugzilla, a Defect management platform), offers mutual visibility & collaborative leverage on all structured phases of a QA exercise starting from Test Case creation to Defect reporting, through the intermediary stage of Test run creation. A Test run is the execution of a partial set of Test cases, as per Testopia terminology.

The customer has to periodically monitor the Test cases for their adequacy in scoping total behavior of the product. The Test run contents help the customer appraise the level of coverage planned and achieved. As 100% Test coverage is not a practical possibility, Test run reports can help the Customer verify whether the Test cases selected during a run have been well optimized to the time & tester resources available.

These three elements of QA delivery, namely; Test case authoring & Organization, Test- Run Creation & Execution and Defect Reporting & Escalation, all sufficiently facilitated by a Hosted platform helps to consistently monitor and improve a testing
